Decree of Joseph Clague  1794-1     Lonan


KK Lonan  }         At a Court holden in the Court house

                     in the Parish of Kirk Patrick on the

                     8th Day of August 1794


     Joseph Clague of Ballagrow in the Parish

of Kirk Lonan having departed this Life on or about

the twenty third Day of the Month of July last past

Intestate and this Court having received Intelligence

thereof hath Decreed his six Children Namely Joseph

John James Edward Jane and Elinor Clague joint

Administrators of all and singular his goods Rights

Credits Chattels and Effects movable and immovable

whatever and the said Jane Clague being off the Island

and the said John James Edward and Elinor Clague being

under Age, Mary Clague their Mother and Joseph

Clague their Brother are sworn their Guardians and

Supervisors and the said Joseph in his own Right and

Ň-----Ň together with the said Mary Clague in Trust for

the said AdmorŐs are likewise sworn well and truly to

administer the Estate of the said Intestate to return

a full true and perfect Inventory thereof to the Episcopal

Registry and to pay all the just Debts of the said

Intestate so far forth as his Goods and Effects will

extend and the Law shall bind them and to these Ends they

have given Pledges in Form of Law namely DanŐl

Quark and John Skillicorn both of the Parish of

Kirk Onchan yeomen.

The Humble Petition of Mary Clague

wife of Joseph Clague of the Parish of KK

Lonnan lately DecŐd



     That yŐr PetŐr applyed before your RevŐce

by Petition the Eight of this Instant to Grant

an Administration of the Estate of her DecŐd

Husband to yŐr PetŐr and her Eldest son namely

Joseph Clague and being Desirous that the

next of Kin to her Deceased Husband be

summoned before yŐr RevŐce to be sworn

Guardians of her children. and that yŐr PetŐr

will allow a proportional Sum to be added

to the Registry for and in Regard of said

children Hoping the same will please the

court without any or the least alteration.

     Your PetŐr therefore Prays yŐr RevŐce

     will be pleased to order the next

     of Kin to be summoned and the

     proportion yŐr PetŐr adds to the

     Registry for the childrenŐs use to be

     named & yŐr PetŐr shall ever pray & C.

     With Authority to Charge all Parties

     ConcernŐd before Your Reverence so that

     there may be a Decree of Court granted

     and Your PetŐr as in Duty bound Shall for

     ever pray & c.


     Ordered that the beforegoing Petition

do come on to be heard before me in this Parish

on Friday Ň---Ň whereof all proper Parties and

Persons to have due Notice.
